It's Only a Dream
On a Saturday night at Kenny’s Castaways in New York City, a lone man took the stage. The lights dimmed, the fog machine expelled mist, and the spotlights trained on the gaudily clad figure. It was none other than AJ Federico. Lightning crackled across the fretboard, the drum machine thundered and roared, and a siren’s voice filled the venue with a range of tunes that created an engaging, multi-genre experience. Performing his own original works, AJ captivated the audience with songs ranging from the acoustic strains of “It’s Only a Dream” to the rock anthem “Freaks for Life” to the smooth tones of “Chickletti,” a song with a Miles Davis groove. His stage presence was domineering, and his music was relentless.
